Season Pass Information & Benefits

Whaleback Mountain is a non-profit organization that is committed to making snow sports accessible to all families and to adding value to our community.

In addition to our affordable Season Passes, this year we are adding in the option to include a donation with your season pass purchase for those whose circumstances allow a higher level of support. When selecting your season pass, we ask you to make an honest assessment of your capacity to contribute.

Thank you for your support - we wouldn’t be Whaleback without you!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • You should pay what you are comfortable with. We ask that each individual or family keep our mountain values of affordability and accessibility and our goal of getting everyone on the mountain in mind as they contribute what they can.

  • No. All season passes are the same. Your donation option is confidential and will have no impact on your skiing and riding experience.

  • Operating a ski area is expensive! Please refer to our Annual Report to learn more about the revenue and expenses in the last season. If every season pass holder included an optional donation we would come very close to balancing our revenues and expenses.

  • Anything paid above the cost of your season pass is a tax-deductible donation to Whaleback Mountain, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. You will receive a receipt to use for tax purposes.

  • So glad you asked! Your season pass contributions are a major contributor to covering all of the costs of mountain operations - staff salaries, maintenance, energy and insurance. However, season pass revenue alone is not sufficient to cover all of our costs. For more detail on our revenue and expenses, please check out our Annual Report.
