Whaleback Mountain hosts the Upper Valley’s most popular Adult (18+) Ski Race League under the lights on Thursday nights with a head-to-head dual Slalom! Whether you are a returning racer, just getting into racing or an ex-olympian, this is the race league for you.
Teams of four people will race each week (one team member must be of the opposite sex). If a member of your team is unable to make it, a substitute may be used. This is a head-to-head race, with teams racing side-by-side each week.
Teams have the opportunity to accumulate a maximum of 8 points per night.
Prizes are awarded weekly thanks to our sponsors.
*Individual Racers* We are pleased to offer an individual registration this year. Individuals can substitute in any team that may be missing a racer for that night or they can race in a time trial at the end of the night.
Solar Eclipse Party
Don’t be left in the dark! Come watch the eclipse at Whaleback!
Join us April 8th for food, drinks, and a perfect solar eclipse view on the back deck. The first 100 attendees get free solar eclipse glasses. The party starts at noon and runs through till 5pm, the eclipse begins at 3:28pm. For 3 minutes and 15 seconds, skies will dim, temperatures will drop, and the country will pause to watch as the Moon passes over the light of the Sun, completely blocking its light. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime event, the next complete solar eclipse in NH will not come around again until 2079.

DH Under The Lights
3rd Annual Meet Under The Lights at Whaleback Mountain
February 9th 2024, 2-9pm

All Dartmouth Health and Geisel School of Medicine staff, faculty, students, and family members are invited to participate. Meet Under the Lights is for skiers and snowboarders at all levels, including beginners and those without equipment of their own, and it is for non-skiers who want to meet up with colleagues and enjoy tacos, music and dance with DJs Skar and Sean, gathering by the outdoor firepits, or drinking hot cocoa and playing board games. Whaleback Pub (self-pay) opens at 4pm. Option to participate in a cash raffle to support Whaleback youth programs.
Cost and registration*
SNOW SPORTS TICKET $25 ($65 value). Free for kids 5 and under
Lift ticket, trip to the taco bar, hot cocoa bar, board games, family snacks, dancing with DJ Sean.
FOOD AND FUN TICKET $10 ($25 value)
Includes everything in Snow Sports ticket except the lift ticket.
SKI OR SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT RENTAL $5 ($40 value)
Includes boots and poles as needed. Cost is in addition to snow sports ticket.

GROUP INSTRUCTION FOR SNOW SPORT BEGINNERS $10 ($55 value)
Lessons will be taught by professional Whaleback ski instructors. Cost is in addition to the snow sports ticket. 1 Hour group lessons beginning at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm
*February 2nd is the deadline to purchase tickets, rent equipment and sign up for ski lessons. Space is limited so buy now!

Whaleback Mountain would like to invite all Upper Valley residents to Ski & Ride for FREE on 2/3/24.
Just show proof of residency to any UV town and receive free lift tickets for you and your family. Make sure to stick around for an Apres Ski show with Brooks Hubbard starting at 3pm. This is our mission in action, providing affordable and accessible access to snow sports for anyone who wants to join in on the fun. Stay tuned for more events like this soon!

Tuesday Night Uphill Skimo Race
Tuesday Uphill Nights
You’ve Got To Skin It To Believe It!
Whaleback is excited to bring back our Tuesday Night Uphill Race League with our casual group tour or race options! You can opt to join the timed race league or join the group tour for a casual night of meeting new people who are into this wonderful sport.
Group Tour: Each week will feature a new suggested route which will range from beginner to intermediate skill level. You will join new friends as you get some exercise and enjoy Alpine Touring together. *Free for season pass holders*
Skimo Race: This multi-lap weekly race league is a total blast! Each week will feature a new route. Racers are encouraged to do as many laps as possible. All racers must have skins on skis, spilt boards or drift boards. No boots or snowshoes allowed.
This 4 week series will begin on January 23rd, 2024 at 6:30pm and continue weekly on 1/23/24, 1/30/24, 2/6/24, 2/13/24.
Registration
Pre-registration is recommended but you can register the night of the event. Cost is $60 for the 4 week series or $20/night drop in fee. All racers must sign a waiver prior to racing.
Schedule:
Race begins at 6:30pm and racers are encouraged to do as many laps as possible, last lap begins at 7:30pm. All timing will be done with the Strava App

Equipment Required:
Headlamp(some of the course will not be lit)
AT skis, Teleskis, spiltboard with skins or approach skis(No snowshoes or boots allowed)
