The Whaleback Snowboard Core Team is a great group of riders dedicated to progressing in and enjoying all aspects of snowboarding: park, big air, boardercross and alpine. We compete in USASA (USA Snowboard Association) events, as well as in non-sanctioned events at Whaleback and other mountains. Our snowboard group is growing and we anticipate a great year.
Coaching
Ryan Paris- Head Coach
Ryan has great experience in many levels of snowboard competition from USASA to the X-Games. He was a winner of Vans Triple Crown Big Air and Slopestyle events. Ryan is a new father and is excited to work with young athletes to pass along his knowledge and passion in the sport of snowboarding.
Pete Driscoll- Assistent Coach
Pete has been snowboarding for 16 years and is truly passionate about the sport. He is going on his 3rd year at Hartland Elementary School as the Physical Education teacher. He inspires kids daily to make the most of their lives by promoting a healthy lifestyle and he leads by example; last summer Pete rode coast-to-coast 4,600 miles on a bicycle.

All members who participate in the Core Team will be eligible
to travel and compete at selected events throughout Central Vermont and New Hampshire.
UVSSA Fees
Each Core Snowboard member must join our club, the Upper Valley Ski and Snowboard Association, which provides valuable support to the Core Team. In addition to providing program insurance and equipment support necessary to run these programs, UVSSA has a clubhouse for families and athletes available for equipment maintenance and storage and a meeting area for programs and members.

All Core Team members must register with USASA (USA Snowboarding Asssociation) who provides insurance for all program participants during team training and at events.
